Serendipity in Paris

The second I heard an American accent in a fitting room, I knew I had to shoot my shot.

My one goal for my trip to Paris, besides enjoying Paris at Christmas, was to find a couple who’d want a free photoshoot. I love New York with all my heart, but capturing a wedding or two in Europe is definitely on my bucket list.

While deciding if I wanted a new sweater in an Sézane fitting room, I heard an American accent say “Babe, does this look good?” and I burst into the main area and met Derek and Elyse. They were on vacation with her Sister and the Sister’s boyfriend, and were overjoyed to meet me because said boyfriend was planning to propose but hadn’t hired a photographer to capture the moment. It was a perfect moment of serendipity.
