Once Sophie and Ryan realized that getting legally married during their big wedding in Italy this summer would be too complicated – doing paperwork in a language you don’t know is never fun – they decided to tie the knot at a private ceremony at New York City Hall on the eleventh anniversary of their first date. Not wanting to take away any of the magic from their Italian wedding, they choose to keep this intimate ceremony just between the two of them, only telling their closest family that they even planned to tie the knot a little early in New York, and after the City Hall ceremony and portraits they stopped for lunch before casually taking the train back home.
