A rainy day couldn’t stop the smiles
Many of their friends are photographers, but Kate and Spencer wanted to make sure that all their guests would enjoy their party so hired me to give their friends a night off which is how I found myself lucky enough to capture their day.
The day started at the Franklin Guesthouse in Greenpoint Brooklyn, a gorgeous, modern hotel just a short walk and even shorter drive from one of my favorite venues in the city – the Greenpoint Loft.
The original plan was to have their first look at the same local park Spencer proposed in, but instead we moved their first look indoors and used some of the gorgeous large windows at Greenpoint Loft, before heading out to the rooftop terrace for photos with the skyline once the skies had cleared a bit. Although this ode to their love story was preserved in the custom embroidery in the groom’s jacket.
The colorful creations of Hanato NYC set the scene. The groom used his job at the National Gallery to hunt down the perfect vintage photograph of the Brooklyn Bridge for their seating chart, and that sort of attention to detail was in every party of the wedding. From the newspaper style invites, to the way each table was named after one of their favorite parts of the city – with a description of why they love it on the centerpiece – to the perfectly mismatched bridesmaids dresses, this wedding is going to be all the colorful Brooklyn Wedding inspo you need.
