The Grand Architecture was a perfect backdrop for this love story
There’s something truly magical about photographing in New York City, especially when the backdrop is the grandeur of its most iconic landmarks. Recently, I had the chance to do a photo shoot that took us through two architectural treasures: the New York Public Library and Grand Central Terminal.
The New York Public Library, with its soaring ceilings, marble columns, and stately reading rooms, feels like stepping into a different era. Every corner offers a stunning composition — the light streaming through tall windows, the ornate details in the woodwork, and the quiet majesty of the main hall make it an ideal setting for capturing classic, timeless portraits.
Just a few blocks away, Grand Central Terminal greeted us with its iconic celestial ceiling and bustling energy. The Beaux-Arts architecture is both majestic and intricate — from the sweeping staircases to the massive arched windows. The way the natural light filters into the station adds a soft, cinematic quality to every shot.
The timeless elegance and sophisticated atmosphere was the perfect backdrop for Givanne and Joanny’s love story. They met around the corner from these stately treasures of NYC, while working at one of the newer glass office buildings on 6th ave – we made sure to snap a few shots where you could see this building through the trees of Bryant Park – and the area has a special place in their hearts, even now that they’ve moved out to southern Jersey and rarely venture back to New York City.
