A Central Park Elopement with an Intimate Reception at a Times Square Pizzeria

This couple wanted their elopement day to help them relive their favorite parts about living in NYC

There’s something magic about elopements — especially when they blend the intimacy of a private moment with the energy of New York City. Recently, I had the joy of photographing an elopement that struck the perfect balance. The couple invited just their closest family to join them on a meaningful adventure in NYC — a day filled with personal touches, iconic backdrops, and an incredible amount of love.

We started the day at a chic hotel on Central Park South, The Park Lane Hotel. The morning buzzed with anticipation as they got ready, surrounded by loved ones and views of the park they’d soon walk through. The excitement was quiet but full — the kind you feel when something really special is about to happen.

Once dressed, we headed into Central Park. Despite being in the heart of one of the world’s busiest cities, we found quiet corners and scenic paths that made the world feel like it was theirs alone. The ceremony took place in a secluded hilltop in the park, surrounded by trees and the gentle hum of nature — the kind of peaceful pocket you’d never expect in Manhattan, but that somehow always exists when you need it.

After vows and happy tears, we made our way to Grand Central Terminal, stopping for photos in the lively center of the City. The Chrysler Building — the couple’s favorite — stood tall in the background, gleaming in the early afternoon light. There’s something incredibly romantic about choosing a favorite building as a photo backdrop. It says: this city means something to us. And now, it always will.

To wrap up the day, they grabbed slices at their favorite pizza spot near Times Square. Dressed in their wedding attire, laughing with family, sharing bites of pizza — it was the perfect, down-to-earth ending to a day filled with beauty and intention.

These are the elopements I love most. The ones that feel like the couple. Thoughtful, real, and rooted in connection.
