An intimate Brooklyn wedding
Blaise and Dan tied the knot this past fall in front of their nearest and dearest in an intimate ceremony and reception at the picturesque Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, NY.
A little rain moved their ceremony inside, but Blaise and Dan did’t let the weather get them down, and we did their first look out on the balcony of their original ceremony location instead. Blaise and Dan wanted a very hands off, documentary style to their wedding photos, so after a mini portrait session I refrained from directing them for the rest of the night and captured the moments exactly how they happened. Dan’s aunt got ordained in order to officiate their ceremony, and she kept us all laughing and crying throughout the heartfelt, intimate ceremony. What really stuck me about this intimate micro-wedding was how the couple got to connect with each individual guest and really enjoy just having the most important people to them witness this special day.
If you’re considering having a micro-wedding, I cannot suggest the Wythe Hotel enough. Blase and Dan used the Penthouse Loft for their ceremony and the Cooper Room for their reception, but for even more micro weddings with a guest count under 50 you can do the reverse and party all night with a view of manhattan. Either way, the food is delicious, the spaces are beautiful and your prep location (and wedding bed) are a short elevator ride away.
